- Description
- This Research Report has been produced by the Institute for Regional Futures for Dantia - Lake Macquarie’s Business Development Company. This report assists in understanding and enhancing the business environment and attractiveness of Lake Macquarie. The report bridges an information gap in understanding why companies may stay or relocate to the city, and what the needs, preferences, and challenges are in choosing locations. Market research was conducted on the motivations and challenges of businesses in growth industries that stay or relocate to Lake Macquarie and the needs, preferences, and views on the lifestyle, business environment, infrastructure, workforce and regulations in the city. Target industries included: construction, manufacturing, healthcare and social assistance, technology, mining and energy transition, and education and training. Key findings indicate how Lake Macquarie can continue to attract and retain the businesses and workforce necessary into the future. Topics considered included the city’s identity, the talent of its labour market, key infrastructure, and business culture and relationships.
